The Mind Body Connection with Elaine Merryfield

Explore various aspects of the mind-body connection with Elaine Merryfield, adult health and wellness educator. The mind and body are constantly communicating; whatever occurs in one is naturally reflected in the other. This has been documented in multiple research studies with fascinating results. Enjoy tangible benefits to your health by learning ways to support your own mind-body connection. (Recorded May 14, 2008.)

She employs the ideas of Jon Kabat-Zinn and discusses his work.

Child Neglect

"The greatest disease of mankind is a lack of love for children, leading to their psychological and sometimes even physical abuse, which predisposes those children to a hopeless-helpless attitude and to disease later in life. We cannot keep blaming physical poisons or genetic defects for every disease. We have to realize that there are social and psychosocial poisons in our own homes that predispose us to disease by creating certain attitudes and feelings within us."
